This course is a composite of the important principles required to plan and complete a successful construction project. Documents and forms included with the course are pathways to understanding the processes of construction principles and their relationship to the performance of work.
- The Client, the Architect, the Engineer and the Contractor address the study of ethics, definitions, forms of contracts and general conditions (and special conditions) of contracts.
- Construction Standards addresses the role building codes play in the total picture of construction.
- The Bidding and Negotiating Process addresses the procedure used in the award of construction contracts.
- Planning, Scheduling and Controlling a project acquaints the student with some of the techniques which may be used to control time and to indicate the importance of cost awareness.
- Contract Administration provides the student with a broad overview of contractual relationships between contract parties for contract construction.
- Safety in Construction allocates responsibility for safety on a construction project between the owner, architect, builders and workman.
- Security identifies problem areas created by theft, vandalism and other crimes.
- Quality Control identifies effects of supervision on quality control.
